Cake Slice Surprise Box by Roni

Cake Slice Surprise Box by Roni | Rinea

Sometimes gift giving calls for something a bit out of the ordinary, this rose topped cake slice surprise box fills that bill!  Be it a hand-cut or die-cut cake slice box it's oh so special when it's decorated with Rinea foiled papers and these lovely foiled roses.
There are many different patterns for cake slice boxes to be found on the internet, a quick search using the words "Cake Slice Template" brought up hundreds of free templates for personal use or you could purchase a cake slice die.
Adhere desired color(s) of foiled paper to a piece of chipboard.

Trace or die-cut cake slice box parts and cut.
Assemble the box following the directions.
You could use the box as is but it's so much more fun to add some decorations. I thought it would be fun to make some paper roses for the "icing" on the cake if you will.
Hand cut or die-cut the foiled paper to create the roses.
I used the Tattered Pinecone die from Sizzix to cut both Ruby/Glossy Gold foiled paper and Ruby/Ruby Starstruck foiled paper.
To create the flowers I carefully rolled the foiled paper as shown below gluing the paper as I went.
Continue making the flowers until you have enough for your project. I also die-cut leaves from Emerald/Gold Glossy and Jade/Jade Starstruck foiled papers.
Adhere the leaves and flowers to the box and you're all set to give a little gift in amazing style.
