Create Giant Size Rinea Firecrackers with Roni

It's always a great time to show your patriotism and these giant size firecrackers are just the ticket. These firecrackers are great fun all summer long and they are a snap to make.

These firecrackers can be made using the Patriotic 6x12 Crafters Pack or the individual color rolls - Ruby/Gold Glossy, Ruby Starstruck, Sapphire/Gold Glossy, Sapphire Starstruck, Silver/Gold Glossy, Silver Starstruck.

Step 1 - Cut heavy duty cardboard tubing to desired sizes. I use one 8", one 12" and one 16" long.

Step 2 - Wrap the 8" and 16" tubes with Sapphire Starstruck Foiled Paper and secure with your favorite adhesive. Wrap the 12" tube with Silver Starstruck Foiled Paper and secure.

Step 3 - Cut 1" x 12" strips of Ruby Starstruck Foiled Paper, adhere to the 12" tube every other inch around the tube to create red/silver stripes.

Step 4 - Cut (hand-cut or die cut) Silver Starstruck stars and adhere them to the 16" tube.

Step 5 - Cut 1/2" x 12" strips of Silver/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and 1" x 12" Ruby/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper strips.

Step 6 - Adhere these strips to the 8" tube on the diagonal alternating back and forth between the Ruby and Silver.

Step 7 - Cut a circle to fit the top of the tube from cardstock and Sapphire Starstruck Foiled Paper times 3. Glue each of the Sapphire circles to each of the cardstock circles.

 

Step 8 - Cut lots of little strips of Rinea Foiled Papers in all colors. Wrap a 2" band of Silver/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper around the bottom portion of the little strips - this will be the firecracker fuse and the strips will be the sparks.

Step 9 - Poke a hole in the Sapphire circle and insert the fuse into the hole, secure the fuse to the circle with hot glue.  Repeat this step for the other 2 circles. 

Note: I cut the length of the strips relative to the size of each firecracker...so the 8" firecracker has the shortest sparks, etc.

Step 10 - Use hot glue to secure a top/fuse to each tube.
