Autumn Flower Wrap with Roni Johnson
When the final mums and asters of the season are blooming I like to bring them into the house to enjoy every last bit of beautiful goodness. Of course, that sometimes means that I need to find a way to disguise the ugly plastic pots they come in. Rinea to the rescue! I created this lovely wrap to cover the ugly and add to the fall feel of my table.
You can use any quilt block style dies you might have on hand or you can also use stain glass patterns if you'd like to hand-cut your own designs. I am using quilt block dies from Gina Marie.
Step 1 - Cut 3 or more of the same design using different colors of Rinea Foiled Papers depending on the size of the wrap you need. If you are using a die-cut machine you can cut several layers at one once saving loads of time.
Step 2 - Glue the foiled frames to a piece of white cardstock.
Step 3 - Begin gluing the various pieces into the frame mixing and matching the different colors to create a colorful design.
It's also fun to mix in the glossy foiled papers with the Starstruck foiled papers for added texture and interest.
Continue gluing down pieces until the entire design has been filled in.
Step 4 - Create enough quilted panels until you have enough to wrap around the flower pot.
Step 5 - Trim away excess cardstock.
Step 6 - Tape the individual panels together using a strong tape to create a long strip of quilt squares.
Step 7 - Mount the quilt square strip to the center of a piece of foiled paper that is long and tall enough to wrap around the planter.
Step 8 - Wrap it around the flower pot and enjoy!
