Faux Metal Embossing Card by Melinda

Faux Metal Embossing Card by Melinda | Rinea

Hello Crafty Friends,

Melinda here with you today. I am very excited to share my card with you.

Here is my card. I love the look of projects that use metal and stamp or emboss on it. I wanted to give that look a try with this wonderful paper.

I started by creating a "stencil" of my image by cutting several layers of cardstock and gluing them together. I then turned my paper with the "backside" facing up and then used a little dry embossing tool to dry emboss around the image of the stencil.

Once I finished embossing the outline I then rubbed the inside to create some dimension for the image. I added some lines to the centers of the flower petals and the leaves.

Once my design was finished, I used some of the imagine Jet Black Ink along with some of the Dew Drop ink to rub onto the outer edges of the foil paper and around the image. This really helps define the image. I then added a little bit of Gold Stickles to the center of the flower and for the little berry buds.

I then took a piece of the Glossy Gold foiled paper and went around the outer edge by scoring a frame with my score board and bone folder. I mounted my finished art piece onto this frame.

Here is one last look at my finished card. I added a cream and gold ribbon to finish off my card. I love that the paper mixed with the inks allowed me to give this "look" a try!

Supplies Used

You will definitely want to give this a try! It was a lot of fun and a very "artsy" thing for me to try. This paper makes it super easy to get this look without having to go purchase a sheet of metal and the tools to do this!
As always, thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your crafty time with us. Be sure to come back daily for some great inspiration from the rest of the super creative designers! Until the next time, have a wonderfully crafty day.
