Make a Trio of Spring Holiday Cards

Spring is finally upon us and it's time to shake off the winter doldrums and celebrate!! The season is full of reasons to celebrate so I thought it would be fun to share a trio of paper piece holiday cards to welcome Spring in style.

All of these cards are made using a variety of diecut when pieced together create lovely scenes of the season. They vary in levels of difficulty from very quick and easy to more time consuming piecing, something for everyone.  Let's get to makin'....

Directions:

Card 1 - St. Patrick's Day (Easy)

Step 1 - Diecut the frame, horse shoe and shamrocks. 

Step 2 - Cut a piece of Turquoise/Turquoise Starstruck paper for the card front.

Step 3 - Glue the Turquoise piece of foiled paper to a 6x6 card base.

Step 4 - Affix the frame to the front of the card.

Step 5 - Glue the various elements to the card.

Step 6 - Stamp and die-cut sentiment and affix to the card.

Card 2 - Spring - Easy to Intermediate

Step 1 - Diecut frame from Gold/Gold Glossy foiled paper and affix it to a white card base.

Step 2 - Gently crumble a piece of Turquoise foiled paper and flatten.

Step 3 - Flick white, gold and brown metallic paints onto the foiled paper and let dry.

Step 4 - Diecut 3 eggs from this paper.

Step 5 - Free hand cut a branch with twigs from a piece of Mocha/Gold Glossy foiled paper.

Step 6 - Glue the branch onto the front of the card.

Step 7 - Diecut bird nest base from Copper/Gold Glossy foiled paper and the bird nest from Mocha/Mocha Starstruck foiled paper; diecut the leaves from Emerald/Emerald Starstruck foiled paper.

Step 8 - Affix these elements to the branch.

Step 9 - Add the eggs to the birds next.

Card 3 - Easter - Intermediate

Step 1 - Diecut the bunny bits from Arctic/Gold Glossy foiled paper, diecut the pink accents from Blush/Gold Glossy foiled paper and set aside.

Step 2 - Diecut basket from Mocha/Mocha Starstruck and ribbon from Blush/Gold Glossy foiled papers. 

Step 3 - Diecut fringe from Emerald/Emerald Starstruck.

Step 4 - Gather the fringe so it will fit behind the basket and glue. Once the glue has dried ruffle the fringe to look like grass in the basket.

Step 5 - Diecut several eggs from Blush, Turquoise, Jade and Lavender foiled papers.

Step 6 - Glue these eggs in among the fringe/grass in the basket and set it aside to dry.

Step 7 - Cut a yellow cardstock panel. 

Step 8 - Assemble and glue the bunny parts to the panel.

Step 9 - Apply foam tape to the back of the basket and affix it to the card.

Step 10 - Place a strip of foam tape along the bottom of the panel.

Step 11 - Diecut a piece of Emerald/Emerald Starstruck foiled paper using a grass border die.

Step 12 - Affix the grass to the foam tape.

Step 13 - Trim off the excess grass.

Step 14 - Add additional desired embellishments - in this case I added a couple eggs by the basket and gave the bunny a carrot.

Step 15 - Stamp sentiment on tiny diecut tags.

Step 16 - Affix yellow panel to a pink card base.

And there you have a fun trio of Spring Holiday cards!
