I love the bright shining face of a sunflower in bloom. They bring such joy, which is what inspired me to create this shimmer and shine sunflower card for you today. We are lucky enough to be partnered up with Imagine this month, and I have used some of my favorite products they offer.
Step 1 - Cut two white cardstock panels 4.25 x 5.5".
Step 2 - Spritz one panel with Bahama Blue Fireworks! Spray, spritz the second panel with Cottage Ivy Fireworks! Spray.
Step 3 - Position leaf stencil over the green panel. Use a sponge dauber to apply Verdant, Green Oasis, and Shady Lane VersaFine Clair inks through the stencil.
Step 4 - Position flower stencil over blue panel; sponge Paradise VFC ink through that stencil. Set both of these panels aside for now.
Step 5 - Stamp the sunflower image on Gold/Glossy Gold Rinea Foiled Paper using Piano Black StazOn Pigment Ink x3. Stamp the stem/leaves once on both Emerald/Emerald Starstruck and Jade/Jade Starstruck Foiled Papers.
Step 6. Fussy cut all of the images from the foiled papers.
Step 7 - Apply Spiced Chai StazOn Studio Glaze on the center of one of the sunflowers to mimic the sunflower seeds. Set it aside to dry.
Step 8 - Mount the sunflower center to the second stamped sunflower image using double-stick foam tape to pop it up off the flower.
Step 9 - Glue the inside ruffle flower petals to the sunflower center.
Step 10 - Die-cut an oval from the blue panel.
Step 11 - Adhere the green leaves to the oval.
Step 12 - It's time to glue the bottom layer of flower petals to the oval, in order to add a bit of dimension cut apart the petals from the third sunflower and space it apart so this layer is a bit larger than the original image. Fill in the empty spaces with petals left over from the first image that you cut out the flower center. Overlap some of the petals to hide the seams.
Step 13 - Mount the previously assembled flower head over the enlarged petal frame using double-stick foam tape; glue the stem to the oval and tuck it up under the flower head.
Step 14 - Affix the green leaf panel to a yellow card blank.
Step 15 - Die-cut scallop oval frame from Sapphire/Glossy Gold Foiled Paper; glue this frame to the card.
Step 16 - Mount flower panel over the scallop frame.
Step 17 - Stamp sentiment and die-cut; affix it to the card using double-stick foam tape.
