The Heart of a Lion Book Marker

The Heart of a Lion Book Marker | Rinea
Hello, Betz here today! One of my favorite things to do besides crafting and traveling is reading. My kids are avid readers as well and we all love to make our own book markers. I mean, as a paper crafter I have everything on hand to do so. We can each make them unique to the book we are reading or who we are as a person. It can be a challenge keeping them flat -- which they need to be -- and interesting. However, Rinea Foiled Paper and the new Ghost ink has changed all that! I used Sapphire Foiled Paper, pattern paper from my stash, Joy Clair stamp, ghost ink, and Copper Foiled Paper I had in my scraps. To make a book marker for my Bible.

I trimmed my pattern paper to a size compatible with my Bible (you can make yours smaller or larger depending on the type of book -- this is another reason I like to make my own. I can custom fit them!)

I trimmed the Sapphire Foiled Paper slightly smaller than the pattern paper because I wanted to have a nice border peeking out behind.

Using a stamp platform I lined up my stamp on my Sapphire Foiled Paper and inked it up with Ghost Ink.

I stamped the image making sure I did not wiggle it around. I applied firm even pressure.

I live in a dry climate so I only needed to let the ink sit for 9 seconds. If you are in a humid environment you may need to let it sit for 50 seconds. Using a Wet One, I removed the ink revealing the image.

I flipped the book marker in the stamp press and repeated the process making sure to add a sentiment.

I took my pattern paper and stamped Foiled Paper...

...and adhered them with my tape runner after I punched the edges.

I added some washi tape from my stash, not only to add some more personality but also for stability.

Finally, I trimmed some extra Copper Foiled Paper I had in my stash and adhered it to the center of the washi tape.
